Kathleen Tompkins brings more than 25 years of financial services, executive search leadership and diversity consulting experience to SXXI. She has an extensive background in the executive search business, and specializes in asset management team lift-outs, which has helped her many clients achieve their growth objectives. Those clients have included major investment banks, asset managers, private equity firms and rating agencies.

She has worked at the Dilenschneider Group and spent eight years at Sheffield Haworth, a U.K.-based financial services search firm. Tompkins was a founding member of its New York office and established the firm's U.S. asset management business. Her experience during this time encompassed all areas of financial services on an international basis.

Tompkins has developed a particular sub-specialization that focuses on the issue of diversity. She has a special interest in placing women leaders on boards of directors. Additionally, she created and launched a global competitive intelligence consultancy product, which provided clients with real-time insights that defined key business structures and identified human capital issues.

She has also spent five years at Warren International, another premier "lift-out" recruitment and placement firm and earlier worked as a generalist in the financial services practice of Spencer Stuart.

Tompkins entered executive search following several years working in international marketing for Salomon Brothers after launching her professional career at Coopers & Lybrand.

She holds a B.A. from Queens College and an M.B.A. from the New York University Stern School of Business.
