Government officials worldwide, and especially in Asia, were being influenced by grassroots activists who sought legislation that would limit Danone's ability to market and distribute an entire product line.

Strategy XXI worked with Danone in a number of areas, including the creation of a training program enabling the Scientific and Regulatory Affairs team to improve its effectiveness in managing the political and social environment and differentiating Danone from its competitors so that its team members would be well-received by officials and potential supporters.

The program contributed to Danone's successfully mitigating negative activist positions so that governments re-examined prospective legislation in key countries.
